My Trip To Madrid

Alaskans like to travel and I’m no exception. It’s been a year since my last overseas trip. That trip was to Madrid, Spain. It was a marvelous experience. I should have learned a little Spanish before we traveled to Spain but live and learn.

One of the thing I really like about Spain is the people are very social. We were in Madrid in January. The temps at night were a tolerable 41°F. To many people that is cold but to the Spanish it isn’t a reason to not go to the plazas to have a glass of wine or beer with your family or friends every evening.

I was at the hotel bar and joined a group of three guys who were conversing about many topics. I wanted a European perspective on world events. I discovered that the three gentlemen had very different views on a myriad of topics. They did not agree on the topics but they accepted each other’s views and remained friends. There’s a lesson in that conversation.
